Our Story

Ever since I can remember, I've always carried some type of lip balm with me. As a kid, I clearly remember using it as pretend make-up and keeping it next to my pink Polly Pocket, if you know, you know. As a teenager I used it after every run or any outing and now as an adult, I use it everyday! I just love having clean, smooth, hydrated lips!

I've spent years trying so many lip balms and having gone through so many- I was tired of not getting exactly what I needed whenever I wanted: top quality, clean and nourishing ingredients and that didn't smell like vitamins or medicine-(Eww)

In 2015, after a crazy winter in North Carolina, I was forced to stay home because the roads were blocked and the schools were closed. I was desperate for lip care so I dragged myself into the kitchen and I started cookin'! I was determined to create the best lip balm I've ever used. After tons of research, trial and error, Voila! Smiling Lemons was born.

I started sharing my lip balms with my family-my first true guinea pigs! (They loved them)

Ironically in 2020, for different reasons, was also forced to stay home and the schools were closed again, but only this time Smiling Lemons officially launched products Nationwide from sunny California! Whoo hoo
